Surgery for glaucoma and TB using lasers
Glaucoma is a condition that affects the optic nerve, causes vision loss, and is frequently characterized by elevated intraocular pressure. To reduce intraocular pressure, the eye's aqueous humour is used.
Another technique used by eyelid surgeons is called laser trabeculoplasty, and it involves changing the trabecular network. The trabecular network is burned in some areas by the laser trabeculoplasty procedure. It increases fluid outflow and is situated close to the base of the iris. For LTP, open-angle glaucoma is used. The two most popular types of laser trabeculoplasty are argon laser and selective laser.
Iridotomy is a procedure that removes iris tissue by creating a puncture-like opening to correct the iris. either a laser or common surgical instruments were used. It is typically applied to patients with angle-closure glaucoma to lower intraocular pressure. In order to selectively burn a hole through the iris near its base, a laser peripheral iridotomy is used.
The most typical surgical technique is trabeculectomy. Removing a portion of the trabecular meshwork in the eye is used to treat glaucoma and lower intraocular pressure. In addition to glaucoma surgery, involves draining the aqueous humour from inside the eye. Conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule are corrected, and the initial pocket is also corrected. It is used to stop fibroblast proliferation and prevent scarring in filter blebs.
Trabecular meshwork includes trabeculoplasty. Laser Trabeculoplasty is the process of applying a laser beam to trabecular meshwork to burn off affected areas. It is situated close to the iris and promotes fluid output. LTP procedures include selective laser trabeculoplasty and argon laser trabeculoplasty.
